How do you use Anime Planet?
I don’t get how the site works.
Can you read the manga or is it just for recommendations?

Ooh- I use anime-planet all the time- what a useful site!
It’s not a site for watching anime episodes or reading manga chapters. It’s a site where you can look up an anime (or manga) that you like and get show-specific recommendations (w/ individual reasons, etc) for other shows/movies. You can also browse shows, movies, and manga by title, genre and ‘tags’ (like romance, mecha, mystery, psychological, epic etc), as well as studio and year of production/publication. The site also features a lot of anime reviews and a forum.
I was on there recently and, though it still has all the functions I just mentioned right now, I read that a new, even more thorough version should be coming out soon.

Mandie is right- I forgot about that. You can sign up and make a page to keep track of your anime (watching, watched, want to watch, etc), rate what you’ve seen and keep a top 5 list and a profile.
